In rare cases they may have chips, scratches, and other wear and tear common on used rental equipment, such as permanent markers, stickers, or other writing on them. Cosmetic and non-functional details (tips, signature badges etc) might be broken or missing. They are sold as seen in the pictures. Please go through all the pictures prior to making a purchase. We will ship the exact same boots you see on the pictures.

The "B.Y.S." (Boot Your Size color-coding system) and "R" designations mean this model was engineered for ski rental and demo programs, making it structurally reinforced for long-term durability while prioritizing quick entry, generous room, and effortless flex.
Key Specifications & Features
Target Skier: Beginner to intermediate skiers looking to develop carving techniques without punishing feet or knees when making minor balance errors.
Flex Index (80): A soft-to-medium forward flex. It allows you to bend your knees easily into a deeper position for proper turn initiation without requiring intense leg strength.
Last Width (Fit): Generous 102 mm to 104 mm wide last. This offers high interior volume, making it an excellent choice for wider feet or high insteps, preventing pinching and foot cramps.
Tri-Injected Energy Frame: HEAD’s multi-density shell construction places softer plastic over the instep (for easy entry) and stiffer plastic along the spine for responsive energy transfer down to the ski edges.
Easy Entry Shell Design: Cutouts along the throat of the plastic shell make stepping into and out of the boot effortless, even on cold mornings.
Buckle System: 4 micro-adjustable plastic or alloy buckles + 1 Supermacro Ratchet (a tooth-and-ladder system on the upper cuff providing up to 28 mm of instant calf adjustment).
Double Canting: Dual side-cuff alignment screws that allow a bootfitter to adjust the cuff angle to match bow-legged or knock-kneed leg geometry.

Because the B.Y.S. 80 R was produced for resort rental fleets, HEAD added several heavy-duty elements over standard consumer models:
B.Y.S. System Integration: Color-coded accents on the boot (and corresponding HEAD rental skis/bindings) to help rental shops instantly pair boot sizes to ski bindings.
Heavy-Duty Polyurethane Outer: Extra-thick, scratch-resistant plastic to withstand scuffs from ski edges and storage racks.
Sanitized® Comfort Liner: Features dense, durable foam that retains warmth while surviving frequent drying cycles and anti-bacterial sanitization treatments.
Size & Barcode Markings: Sizing (Mondo) and barcode plates embedded directly on the heel and cuff for inventory tracking.
